Welcome
to Duffie
and Rachel's Wedding Website!
Our wedding will take place on
Saturday, the 24th of September 2005
at 1 o'clock in the afternoon
at the home of Angela Vernon in Bolinas, CA
Below, you will find links to
maps and
directions, helpful hints about the weather in Bolinas and what to wear
as a result of the weather, registry information and any other useful
bits we could think of.
Special requests:
While it is possible to RSVP via the
"Contact us"
link, it is much preferred that you send back the little RSVP card that
arrived with your invitation.
We respectfully request that sitters be
found for
the kids.
Weather
and Clothing
Bolinas is a quirky coastal town, just north of the Golden Gate
Bridge. Because of it's location between a lagoon and the
Pacific Ocean, the weather can change several times in the space of a
few hours. September has traditionally given us some of the
best coastal weather, but there is no knowing for certain what the
fates hold in store for our special day. We therefore advise
all of our guests to come prepared for sun, fog, wind, and even - it's
possible! - rain and drizzle. It should also be noted that
even in the event of a clear and sunny day, the evening will likely
bring fog and wind.
Useful items to have include:
* Sunscreen
* Hat
* Sweater/Windbreaker
* Warm Coat
* Umbrella
A note about shoes:
We plan on having a solid area for dancing at the reception, but aside
from that, Angela's lovely garden features terrain that is well kept,
but grassy. There is also a gravel driveway. Please
choose your shoes accordingly. In short, only wear stilettos
if you wish to assist Angela in aerating her lawns or hunting gophers.
Fun
Extras!
We encourage our guests to bring:
* Cameras! (the more photos, the better)
* Bubbles! (for use after the ceremony
and whenever the mood hits)
* Musical Instruments! (We can make time
for anyone who wishes to play and who knows? Enough of you rock that we
may get an impromptu jam-band together)
Accommodations
Earlier this summer, some friends of ours got married at Angela's, and
did some research into local accommodations for out-of-town
guests. Below, we have reprinted their list of local
establishments (mostly inns and B&Bs) although, in their clever
words "we can't personally vouch for the softness of the beds or the
freshness of the cantaloupe".
