Directions
to the home of Angela Vernon
160 Evergreen Rd. Bolinas, CA 94924
Notes:
These directions are truly
the most expedient. While it may seem from the
map that taking Hwy 1 through Stinson beach is more direct, that route
is extremely curvy and narrow. ALL roads to Bolinas involve some
curves, but Sir Francis Drake is the best inroad for people unfamiliar
with the area, and coming from the South or East Bay.
Please allow plenty of driving time. More than an hour, for
certain. It takes Rachel an average of 1:15 to get from
Bolinas to Petaluma, and she is familiar with the roads. In
addition, there are always many cyclists on the road on Saturdays, and
the occasional horse-trailer or large truck to get stuck
behind. In these situations, it never pays to be in a hurry.
We highly recommend carpooling! Aside from the pleasure of
having company on the drive, it will help assure plenty of parking for
everyone,
From North and
East of Petaluma,
Head West on D St.
in Petaluma, which will turn into Pt. Reyes Petaluma
Rd. Continue out past Nicasio Valley Rd.
Go straight at the stop sign next to the Graffiti Bridge (the bridge
was purple upon our last inspection) following signs to Olema. The name
of this road is Platform Bridge.
Turn right at the next stop sign onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd., again
following signs to Olema.

When you reach Olema, you will be at a stop sign, with the Olema
Inn (a large white building) on your right.
Turn left at this stop sign onto Highway 1 (Shoreline Hwy.)
Follow Shoreline South for 25-30 minutes. You will travel
over a very curvy portion of road followed by signs for
Dogtown, After this, there is another curvy portion, in which
the only street sign is for a road called Horseshoe Hill (on right)
Upon exiting this second curvy portion, there will be a large, yellow,
diamond-shaped sign indicating a right turn. This (an
unmarked Y intersection) is the turn you want to take. A sign
will be there pointing to our wedding.
You are now on Bolinas Rd. (congratulations! - locals are so fond of
stealing the sign for Bolinas that Cal Trans has given up replacing
them) If you notice a large lagoon (Bolinas Lagoon) on your
right, you have missed the turn onto Bolinas Rd. If the
lagoon is on your left, you know you're on the right track.
Turn Left at next stop sign and go over rainbow painted
bridge. There will be another sign here for our wedding.
Turn Right at next stop sign onto Mesa Rd.
Turn Left onto Overlook Rd. (just past the fire station, sign often
obscured by trees).
Turn Right onto Elm Rd. (the first paved right turn)
Arrive at Evergreen Rd. (on left, after large teal house - sign is on
wood fence)
Angela's property takes up the entire
left side of the block.
Please, only park on Evergreen if you cannot walk long
distances. Otherwise, there should be space to park along
Elm. Rd. There will be parking attendants available to guide
you.
